Relax, plant, nature environment and water reuse are the direction that I would like to investigate in my informal urban practice. I also would like to understand the technical of the water purification system, and try to apply this system into my finial design. Using plant growing to create a nature environment for people to use and using human excrement to planting back to garden are the initial of my concept. Saving our world and the relationship development between human and plant are the berif of my finial idea.

Major Project
With the developing of the city, people’s living tends to a fast-paced. The urban and life become much more heaviness than before. Why not just disburden yourself a moment, lie down (maybe hanging) your body, release your mind and bask in the sun? What I want to do is create a space for people to release themselves and re-inhabit this space of forgetting; infuse energy into the city. It can be a spider web, birder’s nest or net crossing two buildings.
What the location I’m interest in is the alleyway, actually I am considering not only the road, but also the whole space between two buildings; usually people use that space as a car park, garbage dump or just leave that. Why not utilize that space?

Reflection on first half of semester and Proposal for second half of semester.
From the first six weeks of this subject, I’ve developed an interest in understanding the reactions of the public to informal urban practices. The way that people behave is intriguing; sometimes they’re friendly, other times embarrassed. I’ve seen market shoppers speed past rows of stalls because they’re following the pace of the stranger in front of them.
Can we categorise these behaviours? Can we discover what causes them?
In the next half of the semester, I am to achieve this to a certain degree, by changing variables of a market stall, and observing the change. The results will go toward the design of a product or guide that leads to a stall that is more attractive to the public. I will be working with S.Bain, N.Rebstadt and C.Dalamagas.
Market trading of ideas and thoughts about informal urban practices. We all made cards of sorts and headed to our 1st public trading space. We set up and traded much to the amusement and bemusement of passersby. We also traded gifts in return for others cards. The next trading location was federation square which did not work quite as well due to the weather.
Over all the day proved useful as we were able to find groups with similar interest to work with on our major assignment.
Images and keywords of interest for Informal Urban Practices which were influenced by examples from various parts of the world were shown on business cards and hung with rope from my wrist for easy mobility. These were exchanged amongh students for lollies, cookies, tea, other cards and interests/ stories.
First stop was the underground station at Degreves Street where things were slow with little flow of people. As we moved to Federation Square and the graffiti walls off Flinder Lane things became more productive despite the poor weather conditions.
In doing this I was able to find others with the same interests therefore, creating a group for my project.
Marker trading is an informal group activity. Different methods of market trading were introduced among students. The aim of the activities is to open our mind to exchange ideas and opinions. Besides, facilities are critical in trading due to the uncertain weather conditions and locations. The equipments are ideal to be light weight, easy to set up or wrap up.
